How do I set up a one shot output?

I am using the RPI3 with the latest Raspian OS. I am trying to figure out how to get a momentary output from the GPIO rather than a latched output. I am turning on a circuit that already has a latching relay and I just need a momentary on/off to activate it. I did a quick check of some of the options and didn’t see anything obvious.

I’m a NOOB and figure I am overlooking something.

Tough on an RPi unless you are running the MQTT version and rolling your own one shot function to turn the output you just set off after a spell.

I am working on this using the Cayenne MQTT C library, and will let you know when I get back to it.
