New System MQTT

Hello Dear Users,
I am old Cayenne Users. When I was using cayenne(Arduino Mega-Internet ShieldW5100) with token methods, my all projets worked verywell. When I put some icons in the system, Arduino upload automaticlly. But, When try the new system, Cayenne find my dashboard lately. And when the system found the my dashboard, I was putting some icons(relay,actuators,i.e.), they are not working. I did not take any output. I am waiting the system reponding very long. I checked my dashboards and equipments. And I followed all other user ways. But I did not solved this problem. How can I solve this problem ?

Best Regard,
MUTLU CAKIR

can you share the code you used.

I tryed the same concept from token system. When I upload this code, system is accept the my dashboard. But, when I use the icons (same concept draw and drag), I did not get any output signals.

This example shows how to connect to Cayenne using an Ethernet W5100 shield and send/receive sample data.

The CayenneMQTT Library is required to run this sketch. If you have not already done so you can install it from the Arduino IDE Library Manager.

Steps:

  1. Set the Cayenne authentication info to match the authentication info from the Dashboard.
  2. Compile and upload the sketch.
  3. A temporary widget will be automatically generated in the Cayenne Dashboard. To make the widget permanent click the plus sign on the widget.

//#define CAYENNE_DEBUG // Uncomment to show debug messages
#define CAYENNE_PRINT Serial // Comment this out to disable prints and save space
#include <CayenneMQTTEthernet.h>

// Cayenne authentication info. This should be obtained from the Cayenne Dashboard.
char username = “1123”;
char password = “1123”;
char clientID = “1123”;

void setup() {
Serial.begin(9600);
Cayenne.begin(username, password, clientID);
}

void loop() {
Cayenne.loop();
}

{
// Write data to Cayenne here. This example just sends the current uptime in milliseconds on virtual channel 0.
Cayenne.virtualWrite(0, millis());
// Some examples of other functions you can use to send data.
//Cayenne.celsiusWrite(1, 22.0);
//Cayenne.luxWrite(2, 700);
//Cayenne.virtualWrite(3, 50, TYPE_PROXIMITY, UNIT_CENTIMETER);
}

CAYENNE_IN_DEFAULT()
{
CAYENNE_LOG(“Channel %u, value %s”, request.channel, getValue.asString());
//Process message here. If there is an error set an error message using getValue.setError(), e.g getValue.setError(“Error message”);
}

there is a bit of change on how the new system works. have a look at step 4 in this Adding a New Device using MQTT

I tryed same code from this link, but it did not work.

I got these values. When it connect to system, it lose the connection after 1 minutes.
I changed my special address.

[0] MAC: AA-AA-AA-AA-AA-AA
[4530] IP: 111.111.111.11
[4531] Connecting to mqtt.mydevices.com:1883
[35131] MQTT connect failed, error -1

I have the same error but i am using raspberry pi. I am using the original CayenneClient.c file, and very rare when it is successfully connect to Cayenne.

That is nice. But, when we design the simple projects, what will we do ? I think old system(token) was very good.
I follow all ways and I watched all official video. I changed my dashboards,shields and cables. But, i did not find the error.

There is currently a problem that is being worked on.
