D18B20 - what should i write into the "slave" field

Hello,
what should i write into the “slave” field when i want to use a D18B20 Temperature Sensor.
Once it was detected automatically but later it doesn`t work well.

The short answer to your question is the DS18B20 address goes in the slave field.

or

Each 1-Wire slave device has a unique, unalterable, factory-programmed, 64-bit ID (identification number), which serves as device address on the 1-Wire bus.

The slave address for a DS18B20 looks like this 28-000006908c5f .

If Cayenne can’t ‘see’ the device you can use the below link to instructions to check to see if the RPi and 18B20 are working together.
