I have a question about getting connected to the pi

I tried figuring out how to use cayenne on a my raspberry pi a while ago, but never really got the hang of it. I thought I’d give it anothe go.

I’ve installed cayenne to my iPhone, and Raspbian to my Pi2.
I am having trouble, though , connecting to the Pi.

I tried scanning to find my raspberry pi, but cayenne isn’t picking it up.
And I also tried to input the ip address manually , but I got an error saying incorrect username, Password or Port.
anyone have an idea what I’m doing wrong?
could someone post some suggestions I could try, so I can figure out what I’m doing wrong.

thanks.

Have you enabled the ssh on your pi?

this feature has been discontinued.

ok, I turned on the SSH and got it connected now.

I had to try it a few times , but it finally connected.

my next question , how do I connect to the pi from a remote location now?

This is a port forwarding topic I guess, maybe I will start another thread.

if you pi is connected to internet and port 1883 is open then there should be no issue connecting your pi to cayenne,

how do I check if the port is open?
